About — Rescues and Resources
Hello

Hi — I’m Alexandra.

And this is Kona. Rescues and Resources is the little corner of the internet we built for dog families — honest, free, and always will be.

How this started.

Rescues and Resources began with a simple idea: that finding trustworthy help for your dog should not mean wading through ads, sales pitches, and scary headlines. So this site does not have any. No ads, no paywall, no pressure — just carefully checked information, free for anyone who needs it.

Kona was a “foster fail” — I brought her home to foster, and never let her go. Becoming her person opened my eyes as a pet parent to just how many dogs are still out there in need — and that is the reason this site exists.

What you will find here grew out of the questions I kept running into myself: a vetted directory of rescues and services, a tracker for animal-welfare laws, plain-language research summaries, and the Kibble-O-Meter for decoding what is actually in your dog’s food. Everything is built on credible sources and written to inform, never to alarm.

The site runs on about $1,000 a year, and that is the whole number. If it ever helps you or your dog, you are warmly welcome to chip in — and if not, that is completely okay too.
