Hi, I’m Alexandra.
This is Kona.
A creator, a rescue mom, and one very loved Bay Area pup — sharing the ordinary, beautiful work of showing up for the people and dogs we love.
What I make.
Two corners of the internet that come from the same place — honesty, and the belief that good resources change lives.
Alexandra the Average
My social media home for real life, no filter. The small, ordinary, beautifully unremarkable bits of being a person — and the truth that there’s nothing average about showing up every day.
Rescues and Resources
For rescue families. Training tips, tools, low-cost care directories, and the honest reality of loving a dog with a past — built from what I’ve learned bringing Kona home.
Kona.
Kona came to us as a rescue, and in those early days she was reactive — the kind that makes a walk around the block feel like a high-stakes mission.
We spent months training together. Months of patience, tiny wins, setbacks, treats in pockets, deep breaths, and learning to listen to each other.
The soft, settled, trusting dog she is today is the proudest thing I’ve ever helped build. She has been a massive value add to our lives in every possible way.
Things to know about Kona.
The important stuff.
Professional napper
A low-energy cuddle bug who takes naps very, very seriously.
Pescatarian, like mom
We eat the same way. Fish-friendly household, top to bottom.
Big feelings about noises
Loud sounds are scary. We are working on it, gently and patiently.
A Leo
Means nothing to me, but apparently it explains a lot.
Her dad: Brandon
My boyfriend, her favorite human after me (debatable).
Our little Bay Area family.
Kona, me, and her dad Brandon.
Mostly we are eating, walking, napping, and being very thankful for each other.
